These capabilities are precise reasons why our Subject Matter Experts choose to deploy this tool during generation asset inspections. It enables better data collection to be evaluated by Clearsight experts.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
The drone sends sound waves through the material being tested. If there are no defects in the material, the sound waves will pass through it, but if the sound waves hit a defect they will bounce off of it, indicating its presence.

Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT)
Particularly useful in hot, cold, clean, or dry environments. EMATs can generate multiple wave types in metallic and magnetostrictive materials. No surface preparation is needed with this deployable.

Dry-Film Thickness (DFT)
Easily measure the thickness of a coating as measured above the substrate.

Clearsight’s NDE Inspection Benefits
- Clearsight performs inspections using NDE standards to measure UT, EMAT, and DFT with this state-of-the-art NDE drone.
- By reducing personnel “working at heights,” Clearsight reduces safety hazards inherent to traditional access methods.
- Clearsight NDE inspections reduce overall time, resources, and outage/O&M costs by eliminating the need for surface preparation.
- Clearsight minimizes the impact of expensive system outages.
Clearsight is your end-to-end solution for generation asset inspections.
